Winner of the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show, My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend was nominated for both the Drama Desk and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. We sing for our enjoyment, not for performance, in a non-worship setting, from "The Sacred harp," a shape-note hymnal first published in 1844, that has shaped notes to help singers sightread. No experience necessary, we learn as we go. We continue a tradition started in the early 19th century, which was featured in the film "Cold Mountain," featuring powerful harmonies, each part having its own melodic harmony. (1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 7-9 pm)
